Mom in Bloom

Our mother daisy has put out three big, orange blooms. She's the parent to this daughter and another whose photo I know I've posted, but I can't find right now. Mom is at least 4 years old and has managed to survive some bad weather, occasional neglect and thrips. You can see hints of the thrips on the edges of one her flowers. We think the thrips have been driven off, but we're going to blast them with chemicals a few more times just to be sure.

Meanwhile, our orchid of unknown type has 5 blooms out right now.
