A New Rule Regarding Socks

Starting today, everyone in my family will wear the same color, shape and size of socks. Further, these socks will be fully reversible so that there will be no such thing as an inside-out sock from now on. This will be done to accelerate the matching and folding of laundry.

I'm sure the Lean Six Sigma experts out there will agree that this is an exceptionally good rule.

Update: You know I'm kidding here, right?

I also recommend buying 4 or 5 pair at a time, regardless of the color, that way you will be sure to be able to find TWO that match.

And never ever buy white socks.

I figured I go with white cotton tube socks. White socks go well with a gray wool suit, don't they?

Elf and I have a variation on this-- the only colored socks we have are my joke socks, and if I wear a lime-green footsy with a florescent orange one, it doesn't really ruin the impact.

Being a working man who never wears a suit or puts on a tie [that seems a little strange even to me! but that's the way it is] I don't bother either about wearing un-matching socks. If someone should comment on it I just say, Yes, I have another pair just like this at home.

many years ago, when the boys were small, and I dressed mostly in the dark so Tammy could sleep in if the boys were still sleeping; I was at work and looked down, and said, "hmm, my socks don't match". One was blue, the other black.

My friend Dana, said, "They didn't match yesterday either".

As a soon to be Green Belt (I can't believe it, but that's likely to be true), I applaud your RIE solution to a clearly sub-optimized sock washing and matching process.
