He makes a good point that the Tea Party probably has more to gain in congress or local elections than with the Presidency. Especially since all three of the people currently likely to be on the Presidential ballot leave a lot to be desired.
Personally, I've been thinking that the times when the US economy seems to do best, are periods of "gridlock", where the Republicans control one or both houses, the Democrats have the presidency, and they both pretty effectively stop each other from carrying out any of their respective lousy ideas.
When Obama says "Congress won't let me do anything!", and Congress says the same thing about him, I chuckle and think, "What on earth makes you think I *want* you to do anything?"
